THe problem
Our long-time customer called and said they were hearing huge, explosion like booms coming from their mechanical closet. The customers faulty water heater burner was allowing gas to escape the manifold without being burnt. When the gasses accumulated in the burner chamber they would ignite and cause a huge thundering boom that sounded like a bomb going off.
the chaLlenge
To make matters worse, when the customer’s new furnace was installed, it blocked access to customers water heater! The customer was worried that if they had to replace the water heater, they would first have to remove the entire furnace to gain access. This would have cost big bucks!
the solution
We put in a call to our local plumbing supply partner at Cal-Steam Supply and were able to pick up a brand new burner unit for the Bradford White water heater. We removed and replaced the burner assembly with a new gas valve and it solved the problem without having to replace the entire water heater! Our customer was back in action and they saved a lot of money!
